What it means
↑ Upright
Seated in a garden that is hers, the queen looks down into the pentacle on her lap as if whole worlds were in it. She can stand for someone who makes others secure through practical kindness — a meal, a room, sound advice. Taken as counsel, she asks you to be generous and grounded, attentive to home and body, and to make the place around you one where people can rest.
↓ Reversed
Plenty curdled into worry: a hand that gives but watches for ingratitude, a home kept so carefully that nobody can relax in it, or care poured out until nothing is left for yourself. Waite names suspicion, fear and mistrust. Whether it is someone close to you or your own way of coping, notice where fear is doing the managing, and let one thing be good enough as it is.
The queen sits on a stone throne carved with fruit, cherubs and a goat's head, in a garden beneath an arch of roses, holding a pentacle in her lap with both hands. A rabbit crouches in the corner at her feet, and mountains and a river lie beyond. The goat belongs to Capricorn, an earth sign; the rabbit is commonly read as fertility, and the flowering garden as the care that makes things grow.
Upright
Opulence, generosity, magnificence, security, liberty.
Reversed
Evil, suspicion, suspense, fear, mistrust.
